Career....

Ahaah... here is something interesting to write about, what does a career mean? how much does it weigh in our total life? Research shows that an average person spends about 8 year in a job. that is if you stop working at 55... that is alot of time spend purely working... there is a huge difference between a job and a career.. lets see what Mr.Dictionary says...


Job : The regular work which a person does to earn money

Career : An occupation or profession, esp. one requiring special training, followed as one's lifework

There you go... from here we can distinguish what is the difference... a job is just something we do to attain money... but a career is something more.. something we want to do or called as a "lifework".. you see... when we want to select a job it is pretty easy.. the pay is fine? and there you go.. you have a job.. but picking a career is something else... it have to be chosen carefully and wisely... it should be something that we enjoy... something that we really like to do...

Lets take a situation as an example... say that a person that is having a job.. he finds that the environment is not soo good.. the boss is a very angry person.. i would say ... he will eventually quit and look for another job... (lets not take any other circumstances such as he is really in need of money or economic crisis).. where else.. in a person that is in his career that really likes the job will stay on that job... it really doesnt matter how the boss is... as long as he feels good about what he does...

In my situation now.. i am living my dreams... currently working in a car manufacturing company that does their own R&D which i am apart of.. i can say ... i really do enjoy my job.. i am not saying that the pay is good.. but.. i think this the job i wanted... this is my career....

So.. to those people out there... please look for a career... not just a job... ;) ...
